FolderGuard X for Mac Free

FolderGuard is a utility designed to keep your folders private from prying eyes, and to do that cost-effectively and easily. FolderGuard makes hiding folders on any of your disks as easy as clicking a button. No command line commands or other wizardry needed. Version 2.5 is a complete rewrite of the application, so it now takes advantage of Mac OS X’s technologies, such as the operating system’s built-in administrator authentication system. FolderGuard respects Mac OS X’s multiuser operating model, saving each user’s personal preferences in their respective home directories. Additionally, FolderGuard 2.5 utilizes 448-bit Blowfish encryption to secure your preference files and logs.

What’s new in this version:

  • FolderGuard now skips over the hidden “Icon” files used by the system to store folder custom icons. As a result, the program should no longer make Icon files visible when unhiding folders.
  • Results of Mass Reveal are now reflected by the main window, so if a folder that was previously hidden is inside a folder that the user uses Mass Reveal on, the folder state is now correctly updated to Visible.
